Core Formula

Urea 8% — one of the skin's own moisturizing factors, at a dose we tuned rather than maxed. We ran more than ten versions of Renew on our own hands at crags and gyms before settling on 8%: enough to keep calluses supple without costing the firmness climbing needs.

An arginine-derived moisturizer (Dihydroxypropyl Arginine) — a Japanese specialty ingredient made from the amino acid arginine and glycerin, almost never found in a hand cream. Chosen because it moisturizes without tack or shine, and the feel holds after the cream has sunk in.

A structured emulsion system — the reason Renew is rich without being greasy. Its oils are organized finely enough to settle into skin instead of resting on top. Moisture that sinks in, firmness that stays.

Function

• Condition. Thick, dry calluses are what tear into flappers. Urea at 8% smooths the rough, glassy texture that cracks and keeps the surface even, without stripping skin or thinning it into something that tears.
• Renew. Keratolytics and humectants help support healthy skin turnover, keeping the surface moisturized enough to stay pliable, firm enough to hold up. Not baby-soft. In the range that climbs well.
• Protect. Humectants like glycerin and keratolytics such as urea work together to maintain hydration and support a balanced skin barrier after repeated friction.

Key ingredients

• Urea 8% + Lactic Acid. Both are moisturizing factors your skin already makes, and both are easy to overdo. Most hand creams skip them or use a trace; a few go heavy and leave climbing skin too soft. Renew lands at 8% urea with a gentle measure of lactic acid, the point where worked skin stays bendable and smooth without losing the firmness it needs. Not glassy, not thin. In between.
• Virgin Coconut Oil + Glycerin. The pull-and-seal pair. Glycerin is the most-studied moisturizer in skincare: it draws moisture into the surface of the skin. Virgin coconut oil forms a light layer on top that keeps it from drying back out. Simple, proven, and the reason Renew keeps skin soft between sessions without feeling heavy.
• Pro-Vitamin B5 (Panthenol) + Vitamin E. The same panthenol Rescue is built around, at an everyday level here: it helps skin stay moisturized and comfortable after friction. Vitamin E is an antioxidant that helps protect the oils in the cream and in your skin.
• Allantoin. An old-school soother, found naturally in comfrey root and used in skincare for a century. It softens rough patches and takes the edge off skin that's been worked hard. Not flashy, just reliable.

Directions

Apply a small amount to clean, dry skin after training or climbing, before bed, or any time skin feels dry. Massage in until absorbed.
